I RISE (2016)

I Rise is a series of short films inspired by Andra Day’s song “Rise Up” that tell the story of trailblazing African-American women who create, inspire and transform. The series was presented by McDonalds & Coca Cola for Essence Music Festival. The short film was directed by Yoruba Richen and produced by Angela Tucker, with associate producing and archival research by Emma Francis-Snyder.

Why shouldn’t abortion, adoption, and childbirth services all exist within the same building? That’s the question asked by the documentary RECONCEPTION, which goes inside the first full-spectrum pregnancy center in the U.S. that recognizes and validates the full range of women’s reproductive experiences.
