STRAIGHT/CURVE (2017)

STRAIGHT/CURVE examines the industries and obstacles responsible for our current body image crisis and showcases the dynamic leaders fighting for more diversity of size, race, and age. At a time when our brain processes images 60,000 times faster than words, STRAIGHT/CURVE sets out to change the imagery, we are seeing and to bolster a movement that is redefining society’s unrealistic and dangerous standards of beauty to impact society at large. I RISE (2016)

I Rise is a series of short films inspired by Andra Day’s song “Rise Up” that tell the story of trailblazing African-American women who create, inspire and transform. The series was presented by McDonalds & Coca Cola for Essence Music Festival. The short film was directed by Yoruba Richen and produced by Angela Tucker, with associate producing and archival research by Emma Francis-Snyder.

RECONCEPTION (2016)

Why shouldn’t abortion, adoption, and childbirth services all exist within the same building? That’s the question asked by the documentary RECONCEPTION, which goes inside the first full-spectrum pregnancy center in the U.S. that recognizes and validates the full range of women’s reproductive experiences. Directed by Yoruba Richen and associate produced by Emma Francis-Synder.
